Karla Mifsud is the owner of Glitter & Dance and Obsessed Gymwear, specialising in high-quality stretch fabrics, custom costumes, and performance-driven activewear for dancers, athletes, and makers across Australia.
Her journey into the industry began as a mother searching for better Sport Aerobics costumes for her daughter. With limited options available, Karla saw firsthand how difficult it was for athletes to access costumes that truly reflected the identity, energy, and individuality of the sport. That personal need sparked the creation of Obsessed Gymwear, which quickly grew into a trusted brand within the aerobics and performance community.
In 2025, Karla took the next step by acquiring and merging Obsessed Gymwear with Glitter & Dance, a well-established Australian fabric supplier known for quality and range. Today, the combined business supports both creative makers and performers, offering one of the widest selections of performance fabrics in Australia alongside customisable activewear and costumes.

A Little More About Karla
Originally from New Zealand, Karla moved to Australia at 16 and is a mum of two girls. Outside of work, she actively supports her daughters’ sports teams, often volunteering as a team manager and helping wherever she can. She believes life is about embracing opportunities, community, and shared experiences.
